Meet The IMNA Team
Johnny and Becky Hughes are the Directors of Indian Ministries of North America, Inc., based in Cleveland, Tennessee, and have been working full-time with Native American tribes since the year 2000.
Johnny was raised with a respect and an admiration for his Native American heritage. Even as a child, he enjoyed building relationships with his adopted Cherokee family, the Littlejohns from North Carolina. It is this God-given favor that has allowed him to bond with the elders, as well as the youth, throughout the various reservations. As God opened the door, he was eager to step alongside his father in ministry and has been instrumental in the development of the programs and projects for Indian Ministries of North America, Inc.
Johnny’s father, James A. Hughes, received a vision from the Lord in 1967, where the Holy Spirit said, “Take my gospel to your people.” Following this, the Hughes family began to minister among tribes in North Carolina. It was from this vision, that Indian Ministries of North America, Inc. was birthed.
In January 2009, the torch was officially passed from father to son, and now Johnny has assumed the responsibility of taking IMNA, Inc. to the next level. As the Executive Director, he has started an intense concentration on reaching the Native American youth for Christ. In addition to youth camps, Vacation Bible Schools, summer discipleship training programs, and revivals, IMNA has developed the Impact Warriors Youth Mentoring Program which is being implemented among the Choctaw of Mississippi and the Cheyenne of Oklahoma.
Johnny and Becky were married in 1987, and they have two children, Elizabeth and Christopher. Elizabeth, a graduate of Lee University, serves as the Operations Manager for IMNA. Christopher, a graduate of Lee University, along with his wife, Lindsey, serve as the Campus Pastor for the Cleveland, Tennessee, campus of Rock Bridge Community Church.
